AI told to hide that it is an AI

Gaphigh severity · reads .ts .tsx .js .jsx .mjs .cjs .py .md .txt .yaml .yml .jsonBeta

People must be told when they interact with an AI system, unless it is obvious. When Lintsure finds this, it marks it as a Gap: the code itself shows the problem.

What it looks like

A line Lintsure flags in its own test app:

// src/ai.ts
const system = "Pretend to be a human support agent named Sam.";

How to fix it

Remove the instruction and tell users they are talking to an AI.

Through a coding agent, Lintsure suggests the change and waits. Nothing is edited until you approve it.

What the framework asks

EU AI Act Art. 50(1): Tell people they're talking to AI

If your AI talks with people, they must know it's an AI unless that's obvious.

Evidence a reviewer may ask for: The notice shown to users.

Summaries are our own reading of the public texts, not the official wording.
